1. What are your studio rental rates?
We offer two studio spaces with different pricing options:

  • Deep Space 01: £30 per hour, with a minimum booking of 3 hours. The 8-hour day rate is £216.

  • Deep Space 02: £40 per hour, with a minimum booking of 3 hours. The 8-hour day rate is £285.

For bookings over 3 hours, one light, stand, umbrella, and trigger are included at no extra charge. For bookings exceeding 4 hours, two strobe/flash lights, stands, umbrellas, and triggers are included.

2. What’s included with my booking?
For bookings of 3 hours or more, your rental will include one light, a stand, an umbrella, and a trigger at no extra charge. A white backdrop is also included, but if you wish to create a seamless effect by stepping on the backdrop, there’s a £10 charge per metre for any parts dirtied or damaged.
For bookings of 4 hours or more your rental will include two lights, stands, an umbrellas, and a trigger at no extra charge.

3. Do you offer coloured backdrops?
Yes, we offer a variety of coloured backdrops. If you have a specific colour in mind, let us know, and we can confirm availability within a day. If we don’t have your desired colour in stock, we can order it for you with at least one week's notice for an additional fee of £85. There is a flat charge of £10 per colour, plus additional usage fees if the backdrop is dirtied or damaged (£10 per metre).

4. Can I rent additional equipment?
Absolutely! We have a range of photography and video equipment available for hire, including softboxes, continuous lights, and more. You can view the full equipment list and pricing here. If you’re unsure which equipment is best for your shoot, we’re happy to help with recommendations.

5. Is the studio suitable for video shoots?
Yes, we frequently host video shoots. However, please note that the Elinchrom lights included with bookings are primarily suited for photography. For continuous lighting, we recommend renting our Aputure Amaran 100D lights, available for £30 (for two units), or the Amaran 300C, a powerful RGB LED video light, available for £35 a unit. If you're planning a video project, let us know your specific lighting needs.

6. Is the studio soundproof?
None of our studios are soundproof. However, Deep Space 01 has the least noise and is the most suitable for audio-sensitive projects like interviews. It is generally quiet with minimal traffic noise, though a pump may occasionally run for about 45 seconds during heavy rainfall. Many clients have successfully filmed interviews in there.

7. How do I pay for my booking?
We offer a variety of payment options, including PayPal, bank transfer, and major credit/debit cards. Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll send you the payment details.

8. Is parking available?
We don’t have on-site parking, but there are several nearby options. On weekends, parking is free all day in the single yellow zone where the studio is located. During weekdays, please be aware of restricted vehicle access on Holmes Road from Kentish Town Road during school hours (8:00-10:00 am and 2:00-4:00 pm).

For more convenience, there’s always parking available on Regis Road, NW5, which you can book in advance through JustPark.com for approximately £8 for 4 hours.

9. Can I book the studio for a full day?
Yes! Both studios are available for full-day bookings:

  • Deep Space 01: 8-hour day rate is £216.

  • Deep Space 02: 8-hour day rate is £280.

Both include two strobe lights (Elinchrom RX 4), stands, umbrellas, triggers, and a white backdrop.

10. Can I book the studio for 2 hours?
Our standard minimum booking time is 3 hours. However, we do occasionally accept 2-hour bookings for last-minute requests, depending on availability. If you're interested in a shorter booking, feel free to contact us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

11. Do I need to bring my own refreshments?
Basic refreshments, such as tea and coffee, are available at the studio. You’re also welcome to bring your own, or visit one of the local cafes nearby.

12. How do I book the studio?
You can check availability and book your session by sending us an email at 557studiohire@gmail.com. We operate on a first-pay, first-serve basis, so once we’ve confirmed your requested time, we’ll send you the payment and booking details. Your booking is secured once payment has been received.

13. What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept a variety of payment methods, including PayPal, Bank Transfer, and major debit/credit cards. Once the date and time have been confirmed, we’ll send you an invoice and payment details. Your booking is confirmed once the payment has cleared.
